The Boppers - (Inspired by the 80’s movie cult classic The Warriors)
Last night saw the opening of a new show curated by New Rule Collective at Londons 5th Base Gallery. A brilliant concept which sees 22 different artists given a specific gang from within the film and making a piece of work based on them.
I was given the smooth talking slick ricks known as ‘The Boppers’ and wanted to focus my piece around gang interaction whilst using a retro game-like aesthetic… it was good fun!
The show is on from 11th-17th April, so if you’re around Brick Lane area, go check it out!
an illustrated dream
'18/10/12 - I’ve gone shopping with Mum and Joyce. We see a huge billboard with a photo of my Nanny on it, and it says “Have you seen this lady’s dog?”. Nanny had been looking for that photo for years. We are confused because my mum tells me that Nanny doesn’t have a dog, however i knew she did, the dog was called Mindy. Joyce is really really short, and there are lots of dogs.’
Here’s a teeny tiny illustration for the Film Issue of The Believer
